Be precise
Section titled “Be precise”Describe technical behavior clearly and distinguish evidence from interpretation.
Be constructive
Section titled “Be constructive”Critique implementations, assumptions and technical claims rather than people.
Preserve context
Section titled “Preserve context”Do not remove important details from a question after answers depend on them.
Respect confidentiality
Section titled “Respect confidentiality”Do not publish private project material, credentials or customer evidence.
Prefer reproducibility
Section titled “Prefer reproducibility”When possible, provide enough information for another developer to reproduce the issue independently.
Correct the record
Section titled “Correct the record”If an answer later proves incomplete or incorrect, update it.
Technical knowledge becomes more valuable when its revision history is treated seriously.
